Why is crypto up today?
The crypto market has seen a significant rise over the past 24 hours. The global cryptocurrency market capitalization increased by 7.5%, totaling $2.75 trillion.
At the time of writing on Tuesday morning (UTC), only four coins among the top 100 are down.
Arweave (AR) fell the most among these four: 7.3% to $45.27.It is followed by GALA’s 3%, Zebec Protocol (ZBC)’s 2%, and Jupiter (JUP)’s less than 1%.
On the other hand, the best performer in this category today is Lido DAO (LDO). It’s up 30.5% to $2.3. Pyth Network (PYTH) and Ethena (ENA) are up over 20%.
Nearly 30 other coins have recorded double-digit increases. Furthermore, all top 10 coins per market cap are up today.
At the top of this category we find Lido Staked Ether (STETH) and Ethereum (ETH). They are up 18.4% each. Dogecoin (DOGE) is the next best performer, having gone up 8.5% to $0.16348.
Solana (SOL)’s is the smallest increase. It’s up 3.2% to $182.93. Bitcoin (BTC) appreciated 6.6%, surpassing the $70,000 mark again, now trading at $71,163. Bitcoin has also achieved all-time highs against local currencies in several countries across Asia and South America.
Meanwhile, Ethereum, as said, went up 18.4%, currently changing hands at $3,659. The odds for Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF) approval seem to have increased, as the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) asked exchanges to update their spot Ethereum ETF filings.
Trezor Adds Secure Ethereum Staking to Trezor Suite
In crypto news today, popular hardware wallet company Trezor has added Ethereum staking to Trezor Suite, its cryptocurrency management application.
Per the press release, the feature enables ETH holders to commit to staking and continuously earn ETH rewards with a minimum holding of 0.1 ETH in their Trezor wallet.
Users can now select the staking option in their ETH account, and choose how much ETH they want to commit. Trezor said it enabled ETH staking in the wallet through integration with the staking-as-a-service platform, Everstake.
Also, Trezor Suite combines with all Trezor wallets: Model T, Model One, and Trezor Safe 3, “allowing users to securely buy, sell, exchange, and now stake, all in one secure location.”

Taurus, Deutsche Bank Crypto Infra Team, Expands to North America with Vancouver Office
Taurus, the crypto technology provider to Deutsche Bank, Santander, and others, is expanding to North America with an office opening in Vancouver, Canada.
The decision to open this office comes in response to the growing demand for Taurus’ digital asset custody and tokenization services in North America, particularly from regulated financial institutions, the press release said.

Andrew Maledy will head the new office. He has worked in infrastructure management, business technology, and cloud.
“With extensive experience at prominent tech companies such as Procore Technologies, Andrew brings to Taurus a wealth of expertise in engineering management, agile methodologies, and cloud computing,” the team said.
The Vancouver office also follows recent office openings in Zurich, London, Paris, Frankfurt, and Dubai.

Immutable and Spielworks Give Gamers More Ways to Earn Rewards via AtomicHub and Wombat
in other crypto news today, Web3 gaming platform and ecosystem Immutable has announced a strategic partnership with Web3 game distribution and publishing company Spielworks.
The two will “join forces on user acquisition and engagement” with Spielworks’ Web3 gaming platform Wombat and its popular asset marketplace AtomicHub.
The companies will employ additional rewards and marketing support for games building on Immutable. This includes The Main Quest, “the largest ever web3 gaming rewards program.” Furthermore, as part of the partnership, the NFT marketplace and launchpad AtomicHub will support Immutable zkEVM, Immutable Passport, and Immutable Checkout.
The goal of this integration is to provide a seamless experience for players to trade and collect NFTs from games within the Immutable ecosystem. Also, AtomicHub will reward trading activity on Immutable games and launch an Exposure Program featuring special badges and tournaments.
Moreover, Spielworks’ Wombat App will now also support Immutable zkEVM. “This collaboration opens up another distribution channel for Immutable games, allowing players to be eligible for rewards by playing their favorite titles,” said the announcement.
